Il Grande Museo del Duomo

After more than two and a half years under renovation and 45 million Euro later, Il Grande Museo del Duomo has finally reopened. It is a beautiful testament to the construction and legacy of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, and according to the museum’s website “if you haven’t seen this, you haven’t seen Florence.”

Two Tuscan Villas

There is nothing more “Tuscan” than a villa. Immortalized in movies like Under the Tuscan Sun, the classic Italian villa is a truly spectacular sight. Typically surrounded by extensive gardens, villas and their grounds can be explored for hours. Thankfully there are a number of villas around Florence that have been beautifully preserved.

Eating at Eataly

I must say before coming to live in Florence over a year ago, I had never heard of Eataly. To my housemates from the East Coast that sounded impossible but growing up and living in southern California, I never ran into a ‘Eataly’ store.  Within my first few weeks of living here, it was already ascertained that this store was on my personal coyote trail of frequented shops.
